Decorating Our New Home: Guest Bedroom and Bath Edition

Hello again! I am so excited to finally have a guest bedroom and a more than one bathroom! The guest room is going to involve some major spending! We need all the furniture that will go in there. We may have a dresser or night stand I could repaint to work. We need to buy a bed though which can be a pretty big purchase. So this room may be a little slow to come together as we will have to buy pieces one at a time. We have already a few items for this room. We do actually have an air mattress so anyone that wants to stay with us could sleep on that. ;-)



We have already purchased this duvet from Target. I love it. I plan to bring in some fun color with curtains and throw pillows and other decor. I may paint this room but I am not sure yet. We also purchased pillows and plan to purchase a comforter from IKEA to fill the duvet (see below).

I love the look of this room from brightboldbeautiful. So simple and inviting.

I plan to make some kind of art to hang on the wall over the bed that says "be our guest". I found this image on pinterest and can't find the original source.

I would love to put something like this in the guest bath. It is really long and narrow so something like this would be perfect storage. This one is from itsrusticliving.

So far all of my inspiration is very plain and laking color. I do think that keeping a guest room simple is nice though. There is something relaxing to me about a mostly white room. We will see I think I do want to add a few pops of color. Maybe some bright coral or hot pink??
